Around 25,000 homes in Queensland's southeast woke up lacking electricity on Monday morning after powerful weather events passed over the region, bringing strong winds hitting over 100 km/h.
Substantial Ice Stones and Broad Damage
Homeowners reported large ice chunks as large as seven centimeters in particular locations. Weather authorities confirmed that different parts across the state had been impacted by substantial ice precipitation.

Emergency crews were working to restore electricity service throughout the impacted areas, with approximately seventy teams working to handle the extensive power failures.
Victoria's Storm Challenges
Meanwhile, around one thousand energy customers in the southern state also faced electricity disruptions after Melbourne experienced its most precipitation in over 500 days.
Rescue organizations responded to over five hundred emergency reports across the area, mostly for structural issues but also for downed trees and inundation.

- Hoppers Crossing area - numerous assistance requests
- Wyndham area - nearly 180 emergency requests
At the height on the previous day, in excess of twenty-eight thousand energy customers in the state were experiencing outages.
Climate Outlook
Moist weather were expected to linger along much of the state's eastern regions this next several days as a weather pattern continued to draw in moisture against the coastal areas.
Tuesday was forecast to be the heaviest precipitation period, with continued storm activity predicted across different parts of both areas.
Health Warning
Public health experts cautioned that there was an increased chance of weather-related respiratory issues across the state's northern country region, particularly given the current weather patterns.
This caution comes after previous incidents where analogous circumstances led to major medical consequences in the region.
