Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hardcourt

A revitalized Medvedev won his first title for nearly 30 months with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament final.

The Russian, a former world number one, has had a difficult year, achieving just one win at the major tournaments and undergoing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.

Medvedev's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his service game in especial - caused him dropping out of the elite rankings and finally separating with former trainer Cervara.

Presently working with his coach and his other coach, he has gradually improved in the recent weeks - culminating in a hard-fought three-set victory over opponent Corentin Moutet.

This marks his initial trophy following the Italian tournament and first on a hard surface from March of 2023.

Victory also indicates he has won 21 championships at twenty-one distinct competitions.

"For the first time I am participating in a event with my two daughters at once, so to win a trophy is especially meaningful," said tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in tribute of my younger daughter her name, because the first title I got when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."

Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his previous six finals, featuring in Halle previously this season.

His defensive approach and regular reactions on the playing surface had led observers to doubt if his capacity to play at the highest level was concluded.

However the 29-year-old has altered his approach in recent weeks, making an effort to advance forward and perform positively, backed up by an better serve.

He came back from a deficit in the initial set against the difficult Moutet, securing 4 of the concluding five points to go ahead.

The competitors traded break points in the middle set before the Frenchman, bidding for his initial ATP Tour title, gained dominance to force a third set.

The opponent rescued four early opportunities in a close final set before the champion broke to that score to secure the win.

Fittingly, the winner secured the title with a rally at the net, with the Frenchman unable to manage a return after a lengthy match.
